Details of Bladder augmentation

Bladder augmentation is a surgery to make the bladder larger. It is an organ which holds urine. Sometimes it is enlarged because of it's small size and less urine capacity holding. If left untreated, it may cause to damage of kidneys.

• Incontinence
• Trouble urination
• Malfunction of muscles of the bladder
• Stiffness of the bladder
• Shrinkage of the bladder

• Blood & Urine tests
• X-rays & CT Scan
• Bladder ultrasound
• Cystoscopy

Treatment options:

Laparoscopic method: In which a fibre-optic instrument through a minimally invasive surgery is inserted into the abdomen to remove a part of intestine and stitched to the bladder.

Open technique surgery: In this procedure, some incisions are made to perform the surgery inside where a part of intestine is cut and then attached to opening in the bladder.

• Infection 
• Profuse bleeding 
• Bladder damage
