Details of Tongue-tie Surgery

It is a condition in which frenulum is too short. Frenulum is strip skin connecting the tongue to the bottom of the mouth.

Symptoms of tongue-tie include:

• Difficulty in sticking out the tongue past the lower front teeth.
• Difficulty in tongue movement.
• A tongue in the shape of heart.

Frenotomy: A frenuloplasty is performed with surgical tools to release frenulum, and the wound is usually closed with sutures that absorb on their own as the tongue heals.
