During the procedure, a small incision is made to implant a lead wire next to the sacral nerve near the spine. It is that sacral nerve that controls the sphincter muscles. And now when incision is healed, the lead wire is attached to a temporary, battery-powered “pacemaker” that sends electrical impulses to the sacral nerve. If this temporary tests goes on track, then a t pacemaker is connected to the lead wire and implanted under your skin in the area.
