Skin grafting is the process of removal and transplantation of healthy skin from one part of the body to another. It is usually done to help heal damaged portions of the skin.

Skin grafting can be of different types, but the basic procedure involves removal of layers of skin from common sites like inner thighs, buttocks, front and back of the ear and the upper arm. In some cases, fat and cartilage is also grafted along with the skin.
