Septic arthritis, also known as infectious arthritis, is a condition in which a joint in the body swells when a bacterial/viral/fungal infection spreads to the area.

• Severe pain/swelling in affected joint
• Chills
• Fatigue

Infection due to virus/bacteria/fungus usually in some other part of the body that spreads to the joints

Imaging tests: X-ray, CT scan, MRI

Administering antibiotics.

Surgery: The surgeon makes small incisions and inserts a medical device with an attached camera to locate the infected fluid surrounding the joint, and then drains it out.
