Details of Disc-Prolapsed

A prolapsed disk or a herniated disk is a problem with one of the disks that sit between the vertebrae that make the spine. Sometimes also referred to as slipped disk or a ruptured disk, this condition occurs when some of the nucleus pushes out through a tear in the annulus, and it may irritate a nearby nerve. Depending on where the problem is located, it may cause pain, numbness or weakness in an arm or leg.

During the procedure, protruding portion of the disk is removed and some it is completely removed and then the vertebrae is fused with a bone graft.
