Details of Corneal Implants-Intacs

Intacs are two tiny, clear crescent-shaped pieces of a plastic polymer which are put into the cornea to reshape the front surface of the eye.These are a minimally invasive surgical option used primarily for the treatment of keratoconus.

May include:

• Keratoconus
• Mild myopia
• Astigmatism
• Change in corneal shape

During the procedure, a tunnel between layers of the corneal stroma, outside of the central optical zone is created for this to be inserted.
