Details of TAPVC

Total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) is a rare form of heart defect that develops when the baby is in the womb. It is a condition in which the pulmonary veins that bring oxygenated blood from the lungs connect to the right side of the heart, instead of the left, leading to mixing of oxygenated and deoxygenated blood.
