Details of Cardiac Tumour

It is an abnormal growth in the heart. It can be cancerous (Malignant) or noncancerous (Benign), First one might spread to surrounding area but later one does not. This type of cancers is very rare.

May include:

• Embolus
• Blood flow obstruction
• Heart muscle dysfunction
• Conduction problems

May include:

• Age
• Heredity
• Genetic syndrome
• Weak immune system

May include:

• Heart tissue biopsy
• Echocardiogram 
• Imaging tests such as MRI, CT

Treatment options:

For Benign tumors: If it is removed surgically, it can be cured but it should be removed completely.

For Malignant:

1. If spread, can't be cured. Because it can't be removed surgically.
2. Palliative care with chemotherapy and radiation therapy is frequently the only option.
