  • Dr Sandip Shah is a renowned Hemato-Oncologist with an experience of more than 36 years.
  • His areas of expertise are Bone Marrow Transplant, Autologous, Allogenic, MUD transplant Major, Leukemia, Haplo, and Umbilical cord transplant.
  • More than 700 transplants including Autologus, Allogenic, MUD transplant Major & Leukemia, >more than Haplo & 13 unrelated Umbilical cord transplants in Thalassemia done at GCRI, Ahmedabad and more than 140 transplants including Autologus & Allogenic done at Sterling Hospitals, Ahmedabad till2021.
  • He took training in haematology and medical oncology from reputed institutions such as GCRI, Tata Memorial Hospital & KEM Hospital Mumbai. He has also taken training in bone marrow transplantation at GCRI.
  • More than 25 articles were published in national and international journals and presented papers and lectures at several national and international conferences.

 

Achievement

  • Dr Shah has completed 1st successful Stem Cell Transplant in case of the rare disorder LAD (Published in TOI Ahmedabad 23 Jan 2014).
  • He has received ORATION AWARD from the Association of Physicians of Gujarat on ‘Haempoetic Stem Cell Transplantation in Gujarat’.
  • He has twice organized national conferences at GCRI - on bone marrow transplantation in February 2007 and 'PEDI-CON' on PediatricHemato-oncology in 2002, Hematology Update 2010 & 2012, and CME on Hematology 2014.

 

Research and Publication

  • He has been the principal investigator in more than 15 national and multinational clinical research trials.
  • He has also written a chapter on 'Refractory Hodgkin's disease' for reference books such as 'Hematology Today' and 'Epidemiology of Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia.
  • His name has been published in articles such as NEJM 2010 Dasantinib Vs Imatinib in Newly Diagnosed CML, Indian Journal of Cancer 1990 Recombinant Alfa Interferon therapy in Multiple Myeloma, Association of Physician of Gujarat 1986 NHL of Skin.
