Dr Boman Nariman Dhabar is a renowned Oncologist, practising for more than 40  years.

His areas of interest are Medical Oncology, Chemotherapy, Hemat-Oncology, Solid tumours, Radiation Therapy, Stem Cell Transplant, Targeted Therapy, and Inserting and care of central venous lines.

He completed his M.B.B.S. in 1984 and then he did his MD in Internal Medicine in 1988 from LTMG Hospital, Sion Mumbai.

There are approximately 34 papers he has co-authored on various topics of cancer, including infections associated with white blood cells, the pattern of malignant cancers, breast cancer, lung cancer, and so on.

In 2000, he also earned a Fellowship in Bone Marrow Transplant from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle, Washington, USA.

He is also a member of the European Society of Medical Oncology, Switzerland.

Professional Experience

• Trained at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai in the Department of Medical and Hemat-oncology.
• Experience in the management of immunocompromised patients. Inserting and care of central venous lines, administration of chemo- 2 therapeutic agents for Hematologic and solid tumours and managing their toxicities.
• Viewing the Bone Marrow, Surface Marker, and Cytochemistry slides of Hematologic Malignancies.
• Department of Hemat-Oncology Kuwait Cancer Control Centre, Kuwait [one of the largest Oncology Centre in Middle East]
• Worked as House Officer under Dr M. Agarwal (Hematologist) D. (Gen. Medicine) MNAMS., at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital. During this period took an active interest in detailed work-up of Hematology patients.
• Worked under Dr. M. B. Agarwal, M.D., MNAMS as a Lecturer at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical & General Hospital, Mumbai. Actively participated in running the Hematology Outpatient Department.
• As a House Officer and Registrar in Medicine. Worked in General Medical Wards. Intensive Coronary Care Unit, Cardiology Intensive Respiratory Care Unit and Gastroenterology Unit.
• As a medical Lecturer at Intensive Care Unit managed various medical emergencies and took clinics and tutorials for undergraduate students.
