Dr. S. V. Kotwal is an eminent and well versed doctor of urology and has extensive experience in all branches of Urology.He has performed one of the largest personal series of PCNL in North India (nearly 4000) and 300 renal transplants. He also  pioneered microsurgery in the Armed Forces and has vast experience of Uro-Oncology and Paediatric Urology. His work in Endo-Urology and Vascular reconstructions has earned him international acclaim. He has performed several complicated genito-urinary reconstructive operations including the very recent ‘sex change’ or ‘sex reassignment’ surgery as well.He has also conducted operative workshops all over the country and has actively participated in regional, national and international professional conferences.
Dr. Kotwal is also a recognized post graduate teacher for MS (General Surgery) and M.Ch (Urology) Degrees at the University of Pune and MS Degree at Delhi University. He is an examiner and Inspector of the National Board of Examinations and also a visiting Professor of Urology at CMC, Ludhiana and Guwahati Medical College
