Dr. Harsha Jauhari has performed  almost 6000 Renal Transplant & 3500 C.A.P.D. catheter insertions, which are probably the largest series in India. Apart from this, he has over 200 original Publications, Surgical Innovations and Lectures, delivered at National & International Forums, concerned with various facets of Transplantation. Dr. Harsha Jauhari has been the pioneer in starting successful Renal Transplant Surgery Programs at Govt.  Registered Centers in 3 States. He is Advisor, (Organ Transplantation), to Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India since 2014 & is involved in developing the National Organ Transplant Programme (NOTP) & National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO).  He is a core member of Advisory and Expert groups to Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, for matters pertaining to Transplantation, dialysis and kidney Disease. In 2004, the Hon'ble Delhi High Court appointed him by name, as a member of a High Powered committee comprising the Health Secretary, Govt. of India, the Director General of Health Services and others to review the provisions of the Transplantation of Human Organ Act (1994) and it’s Rules.  One of his various recommendations was one to set up a National Organ Transplant Programme.  Dr. Harsha Jauhari is Member of  various expert Committees in the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. They include National Organ Transplant Programme, setting up of Stand - alone Dialysis centers, training of Dialysis Physicians, Transplant Surgeons and Transplant Coordinators. Other committees include policy making on Medical Tourism & Movement of Health care Personnel at W.H.O & GATT. The Director General Health Services had appointed Dr. Harsha Jauhari as the Organizing Secretary for the public events of the World Organ Donation Day, held in Nov 2010, at India Gate, New Delhi, with the aim of propagating the message of Organ Donation. He had been unanimously elected President of the Association of Surgeon of India – Delhi State Chapter 2016-17. Finally, it can be said that Dr.  Harsha Jauhari has contributed considerably in his specialised field of Transplant Surgery, both as a clinician & as a Teacher. He has also an  expertise in the Ethics & Law in Transplantation.

Honors And Awards:

  • He was awarded Dr. B.C. Roy National Award 2016, by the Hon'ble President of India
    He was awarded the Dr. P.N. Berry Trust Scholarship by the Indian High Commission, U.K. on
    request by the Institute of Urology, London, to train in Transplant Surgery
    He was the only non Govt. member of a 6 member team, headed by the Director General Health Services, for the training to the National Transplant Organization of Spain, at Madrid
