He has done M.S. (Surgery), M.Ch. (Urology). Dr. Shah has been associated with Lilavati Hospital for over 15 years & has been in clinical practice for almost 30 years. Dr. Shah is the first urologist from India to train abroad in andrological microsurgery (in Belgium in 1986) & has developed India's first penile prosthesis (in 1996). He has received multiple awards and honours. Some of which are, Dr. B C Roy Award from President of India for developing Andrology in India; Awarded President's Best Video Prize at World Meeting on Impotence in Singapore for developing new technique of penile revascularization; Honoured with Urological Society of India President's Award, and many more.
