Treatment of Balloon Septostomy

During the procedure, the cardiologist makes some small incisions in the groin to reach the femoral artery with a tiny flexible tube and then a deflated balloon flexible tube is inserted into the first flexible tube and is guided to the heart. Here some X-rays are taken. Now once the the tube is in the right atrium, It crosses through the heart defect to the left atrium and be inflated and the balloon tube is pulled back to the right atrium creating a larger opening between the right and left atria which will let the oxygen-rich blood circulation.
